Workshop on Substantial NATO-Georgia Package Synchronization

The Workshop on Substantial NATO-Georgia Package synchronization in ongoing in syndicates. Up to 200 experts from NATO member and partner nations, along with the representatives of Georgian Ministry of Defence, Crisis Management Council and Guard Police divided in working groups are discussing the synchronization of defence and security priorities envisaged under the 15 SNGP initiatives. The working meeting on the SNGP synchronization is conducted in Georgia for the first time. The purpose of the meeting is to bring the SNGP initiatives` action plan into conformity with the plans of Georgia`s defence sector transformation, Strategic Defence Review and other national strategies. Besides that, the workshp aims at determining the directions requiring additional support and better resource management as well as preventing duplication of international efforts. The participants are working on synchronization of defence and security priorities envisaged under SNGP initiatives to be reflected in different documents, bilateral programmes and other formats of cooperation in future. The three day-long working meeting was planned and implemented through joint efforts of NATO and Georgia. Bulgarian Embassy as the NATO`s contact person in Georgia, is also engaged in its implementation. The Workshop will finish in the Joint Training and Evaluation Centre.
